Archiving
The journal is committed to preserving its published scholarly content and maintaining long-term access to research articles. Electronic archiving is an important part of the journal's publishing practices and is intended to reduce the risk of permanent content loss caused by technical failures, service interruptions, or changes in publishing infrastructure.
The journal maintains electronic copies of its published articles and associated publication metadata within its journal management and publishing systems. Reasonable measures are taken to protect digital content, maintain the integrity of published records, and support continued access to archived materials.
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) are digital preservation initiatives that support long-term preservation of scholarly publications through distributed archiving. Participation in these services should be confirmed before the journal claims that its content is preserved through LOCKSS or CLOCKSS.
The Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) provides digital preservation services for eligible journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS). Where the journal is configured, eligible, and successfully participating in PKP PN, this service can help preserve journal content and support continued access if the journal's primary website becomes unavailable.
The journal's publishing infrastructure should be supported by appropriate backup and recovery procedures to reduce the risk of data loss. These procedures may include backups of article files, publication metadata, and relevant system data, together with measures for restoring content following technical failures. Backup frequency, storage arrangements, and recovery procedures depend on the journal's hosting and technical configuration.
The journal aims to maintain persistent access to published articles, including their bibliographic information and associated digital files. Where technically and legally feasible, preservation measures are intended to support the continued availability of the scholarly record even if the journal's website or publishing platform changes.
Published articles remain accessible through the journal website, subject to the journal's access policies and any applicable legal restrictions. If the primary website becomes temporarily unavailable, the journal will make reasonable efforts to restore access or provide alternative access to preserved content where such copies are available.
This policy may be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in digital preservation standards, publishing technology, and the journal's archiving arrangements. The journal will update this page when material changes are made to its electronic preservation practices.
The journal recognizes the importance of preserving scholarly publications for future generations of researchers. It is committed to maintaining appropriate electronic archiving practices that support the integrity, continuity, and accessibility of its published research.
